The Slitter Operator is responsible for setting up and operating a fully automated converting slitter and associated packing lines. This position follows safety rules and work instructions while fulfilling work orders to achieve consistent quality of slit products. This role also maintains production records; troubleshoots and problem solves; and participates in activities designed to improve quality or lower manufacturing costs.
Hours of Work: Rotating Shift every 2 weeks from Monday to Friday, weekends off.
Days – Afternoons - Nights
Duties & Responsibilities:
Reads production schedule; dockets; blue prints.
Starts machine, verifies tensions, and monitors operation and quality of rolls.
Runs the machine at efficient speeds while maintaining quality.
Runs a computerize slitter with touch screen.
Observes machine operation and examines slit samples and rolls for dimensions, profile print and lamination quality and inspects for any defects.
Measures slit position, print repeats and roll diameter.
Co-ordinates and directs machine assistant/s to maintain or improve efficiency.
Regularly inspects machine for performance and preforms basic preventative maintenance, such as lubricating and cleaning machine.
Record various information on reports including production, quality control, and product safety.
Follow various rules and regulations relating to safety, production, quality, and product safety.
Maintains a clean work area and preform HACCP checks.

Experience on Atlas Titan SR800 or SR9, preferred
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to lift to 50 lbs. on occasion
Practice safe behavior with regards to equipment and task
Mechanical knowledge of and ability to adjust gauges, scales and hand tools;
Knowledge of production schedules, basic math skills, computer skills, and data entry;
Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously;
Ability to effectively communicate in verbal and written form.
